Shutter Speed Assignment

Last night I went out and thought I'd have a go at trying different shutter speeds on lights, I've never tried this before so was unsure to how it would turn out, some pictures aren't so good but I like the effects its given the images. As it got later and I figured out which shutter speeds worked best I feel that I got some good images and really liked the outcome. I also tired doing some light drawing at home I feel like these images aren't as good as some of the ones I took when I went out at night but now I know which shutter speeds and apertures work best I'm going to try it again and see if they turn out any better. The pictures look better quality if you click on them to see them full size.

For this next picture I used an aperture of f8.6 and a shutter speed of 5" I really like this picture and think that its probably one of my favourites I especially like it because of all the different colours thats been captured and how many lights there are, I think the composition works really well with the overlapping lights, some being very sharp lines and some slightly blurred.

For this next set of images all of them are of car lights while the cars were moving. For the first two images while the cars were going past under the motorway bridge I purposely moved my camera in a sideways then circular motion to see what effect it would have to the picture and I really liked the outcome of what it turned out like. For this section of images I used an aperture of f8.6 and shutter speed of 3".

All these images in this next section have the same aperture and shutter speed.

All these next images are some of my favourite that I took. I used the same technique as I did on another picture earlier on where I purposely moved my camera to see what effect I got and I think that some of these turned out really well. I like how you can see lots of different shapes and colours you wouldn't usually be able to see. Also the way some fill the whole of the picture is really effective. For quite a lot of these last ones I took them whilst in the car and the car moving helped me create that effect I really like, because the car was bumpy moving along it did make some pictures a bit blurry but I think this adds to some of the pictures and works really well.

These next two pictures I took of the traffic lights and on the second one I was really happy that I managed to catch the lights changing so got all three colours in the picture; Red, Amber and Green.

On these pictures I love the brightness and colours of the lights and how some are sharp and some blend in more, I think the way they fill the pictures really work aswell.

I really like the different shapes created on these next three images.

On these two images I feel like the burred parts on the pictures really adds to the composition.
